How reviews work

From real postcard experiences

Customers signed in to Snailmail can leave one review per paid order, including a rating without written feedback. Customers can edit or remove their own review. Every rating uses the same submission and moderation process, whether it is one star or five.

What Verified sender means

This review is linked to a paid Snailmail order. A signed-in account alone does not receive this badge. Genuine feedback imported from another channel can also be verified when it is matched to a paid order.

One overall rating

The score covers Snailmail as a service. It is the average of published, authentic ratings from 1 to 5, with each rating counted equally. Written testimonials without an explicit customer-supplied rating do not contribute to the score. Card and occasion pages show this same overall score.

Genuine feedback from other channels

Some feedback may have originally arrived by email, support, social media or another channel. We keep its source and permission record internally and preserve the customer's original words and date. We never guess a star rating from a testimonial.

Moderation and replies

We check authenticity, privacy, spam, abusive content and relevance. Moderation does not depend on whether feedback is positive or negative. Staff cannot rewrite customer text or change their rating. Snailmail replies are clearly labelled. A photo can be rejected for privacy reasons while the written review is published.

Photos and relevance

Customer review photos are shared with explicit permission, whether submitted directly or received through another channel. Photos shared in a Snailmail reply are separately labelled and are not customer review photos. Private order artwork is never published automatically. Photos have location and camera metadata removed. Most relevant puts factual matches to the card or occasion first, with a neutral date-based order. Higher ratings do not receive preference in that sort.
